  Technical Requirements

You will need to have access to:

A standard PC with internet access and audio

(Note: Broadband is NOT required)

  NOTE: Lesson 4 - PowerPoint

Lesson 4 is an introduction to creating Microsoft PowerPoint presentations.  While it is helpful if you have PowerPoint so that you can do the practical side of the lesson, it is not an essential requirement for the course.  If you don't have it (it is part of the Microsoft Office package but can also be purchased as a single program), perhaps you can print out the lesson and try it when you return to school.

Alternatively you can have a look at openoffice.org, which is a free package similar in functionality to Microsoft Office and can be downloaded from their website.  The program 'openoffice.org Impress' is very similar to PowerPoint.  If you are not able to download this (it is very large so broadband would be essential) it is available on CD from your local Education Centre.

Finally, if you don't have PowerPoint but wish to view a presentation created in PowerPoint, you can download a free viewer software from the Microsoft website .
